Hull cover, expanded vinyl, 5 or 15 m

Installation of expanded vinyl hull covering:

PVC Hull Cover provides a light insulating effect and a practical surface that both hides minor irregularities and is easy to clean.
Very elastic and can be glued to double curved surfaces without cutting the cover. Easily shaped around corners or pulled up into roof hatches etc.
But let's be clear; if you don't take your time, stay calm, and keep yourself and your tools clean, assembly can be a challenge.



- Smooth, grease/dust-free surfaces make work significantly easier.

- It is advisable to make a pre-sized template or roughly cut the hull cover before gluing begins.



Wet room adhesive:

not immediately, but has a relatively long airing time. Requires that the temperature of the substrate remains above 10 degrees during the bonding period. Can be used as a "light-cure on two surfaces" contact adhesive. Excess adhesive is removed immediately with water and clean cloths. Often used on walls, ceilings, siding, panels and bulkheads.


Contact adhesive:

immediately (only short airing time) and fully hardened after a short time (temperature dependent) but does not require as much heat as with water-based wet room adhesive. Can be used "wet" as wet room adhesive. NOTE! The hull cover does not tolerate solvents, excess adhesive is removed when it is "rubbery".


Often used around corners, or where the hull covering is stretched excessively. Mask the edges of the adhesive surface with masking tape before applying the adhesive to the hull/surface.
Install the hull covering on the glued surfaces. Make sure there are no air pockets, hold the cleanly cut edges in place with tape. E. vt transitions and glue joints with wide tape. Use stiffeners and small plates, cushions, weights and sandbags to hold the hull covering in place until the glue has hardened.

When the adhesive has hardened, remove the tape and other auxiliary materials. The edges/joints are re-glued and the tape is removed if necessary. Should a small air bubble creep into a surface, it can be re-glued with an injection syringe and slightly diluted wet room adhesive.
