The Ronstan 30ST RA6302 is an innovative two-gear winch featuring Ronstan's clever QuickTrim system. QuickTrim gives sailors the ability to easily ease line tension to make minor adjustments to the sail trim, without having to remove the winch handle or take out the line. This allows you to react immediately to small changes in wind direction or steering, which provides a significant advantage when frequent sail trim adjustments are required.
On the water, QuickTrim is intuitive to use. With one hand on the tail of the joint, the top cover of the winch can be rotated counterclockwise with spring pressure, allowing the self-trimmer to rotate under it like a disc as the line is released. When the top cover is released, the self-trimmer locks and grabs the line to resume normal operation.
When shipped from the factory, the Orbit 30QT operates as a traditional two-stage winch. The QuickTrim feature is activated by the user by removing a single screw. Step-by-step instructions are provided in the Quick Reference Guide included with the winch and in the product manual.
The winch is made with a special construction in aluminum steel, which makes it very light. It is also designed to be as easy to assemble and maintain as possible. It can be opened and serviced, completely without the use of tools. The winch has an ergonomic design, high pulling power and easy handling, even with wet or gloved hands.
