Roca's bow hook is an extra elaborate U-bolt with breakaway nuts, which makes the bolt ideal for locking boats. The hexagonal part of the nuts breaks off when you tighten them with at least 70 Nm of torque. This makes the U-bolt impossible to unscrew once it is attached.
The U-bolt is made of very hard, PVD-treated stainless steel. The treatment makes it more corrosion-resistant than regular stainless steel.
