Product information

The Ocean Signal RescueME PLB3 is an advanced personal distress beacon that combines multiple technologies to maximize the chance of a quick rescue. In addition to the global Cospas-Sarsat 406 MHz distress signal, the PLB3 also transmits an AIS signal that can be picked up by nearby vessels. This provides valuable local alerting, supplementing the satellite-based distress signal.

The device has built-in GPS and a high-intensity strobe light for accurate positioning and visibility in the dark or low visibility. It is also equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication), which allows status and information to be read via mobile phone with the Ocean Signal app.

The RescueME PLB3 is compact and lightweight, and is particularly suitable for use at sea, whether on a lifejacket, in a pocket or attached to equipment. It comes with a mounting clip and strap, which allows the PLB3 to be mounted on an inflatable lifejacket with automatic activation when the lifejacket is inflated.

A subscription is not required for use of PBL1, but an annual sector fee (500,- as of April 2025) to the National Communications Authority (NKOM) must be expected.
