Hot water from the engine is directed via radiator fins in the defroster, which in turn has a fan that sucks in cold air, blows it past the fins that are heated by the engine's cooling water and via hoses to exhaust nozzles in the boat. As long as the engine is running, hot air is blown. When the engine stops, the fan will still blow, but soon it will be as cold as the rest of the air on board. Only used on engines with fresh water cooling, because salt water cooled engines have too low a working temperature.
Compared to its competitors, the Isotherm Defroster delivers significantly higher air flow.
This product is the successor to 1043000 and 1043002 and comes in two versions, 12 or 24V.
