The gas regulator is equipped with a pressure relief valve. At pressures above 150mbar, the valve is released and the gas is released via the valve on the regulator. It is therefore important that the gas cylinder and regulator are placed outdoors with good ventilation. The pressure relief valve is a safety measure to avoid leakage in the gas system if the pressure is too high. The gas regulator should not be used outdoors with gas heaters or gas grills.
The gas regulator is equipped with a pressure gauge for reading the gas level and for leak checking. The pressure gauge gives an indication of how much gas is left in the cylinder and whether it is about to run out. The pressure gauge is also used to perform a leak test of the system.
As long as the needle is in the green area, you have an OK amount of gas left. When the needle is in the yellow area, you have 1-2 hours of consumption left (with the current consumption amount). When the needle is in the blue area, the gas bottle is empty and must be replaced.
Allows you to perform a simple leak test at 30mbar pressure. To perform this, the gas regulator must be connected to the gas cylinder and consumer.
- The consumer must be turned off (not consuming gas).
- Close the gas valve on the gas regulator.
- Gas in the hose/pipe up to the valve on the gas consumer is now closed.
- Read the needle position in the pressure gauge. It should be in the green area.
- Wait 2-5 minutes. If the needle is still in the green area, without moving, the system is tight.
- If the needle has moved down into the yellow or blue area, there is a leak. The leak must be found and sealed before continuing.
