We strongly recommend that you always use Andersen winch grease when lubricating your winch. Andersen winch grease is a high quality silicone/Teflon grease product. Most other types of grease, including "marine grease" are not suitable for lubricating winches. Unsuitable grease products can cause malfunctions, which can result in serious injury to the user and others.
Because ANDERSEN uses the best materials and high-precision manufacturing, we recommend that for normal use you only disassemble, clean and lubricate the winch once every two years. During extensive use, such as regatta sailing, charter or long-distance sailing, we recommend lubricating the winch at least once every year.
